As part of their time setting up links with schools in the Gambia, Miss O’Neill, Mrs Marsh and Mr. Kendrick spent time in Bijilo Nursery School in Banjul. Whilst working alongside student teachers from Newman College, they arranged a walk around the local area for some of the Gambian children.
Here are some of the photos from their time in Bijilo Nursery School:-
The Year 4 letters to Africa have also been sent to the head of Bijilo Nursery School – Mr. Baboucarr Jobe. Hopefully, we’ll hear back from Mr. Jobe and his school children very soon!
Some of these photos (and some of the photos of Makumbaya Lower Basic School) show the school garden. It’s very big. Learning how to grow fruit and vegetables is very important to Gambian school children and is an important part of their school curriculum.
